This dessert captures the crispy, nutty, and honey-soaked flavors of traditional baklava but in an easier-to-make format. The key is the kıyır kıyır syrup, which gives it that signature crisp yet melt-in-the-mouth texture!
Ingredients
For the Crispy Base:
1 pack phyllo dough (or yufka)
150 g melted butter (or ghee for extra crispiness)
200 g chopped walnuts, pistachios, or almonds
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional)
For the Kıyır Kıyır Syrup:
200 g sugar
150 ml water
2 tablespoons honey
Juice of ½ lemon
1 teaspoon orange blossom water or vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Syrup (Şerbet):
In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and honey.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add lemon juice, stir, and let the syrup cool completely. (It must be cold when poured on the hot dessert!)
