π Ingredients:
πΉ️1 Tbsp butter
πΉ️1 tsp olive oil
πΉ️1 lb ground beef
πΉ️1/3 green bell pepper, minced
πΉ️1/2 large yellow onion, minced
πΉ️3 cloves garlic, minced
πΉ️1 Tbsp tomato paste
πΉ️2/3 cup ketchup
πΉ️1/3 cup water
πΉ️1 Tbsp brown sugar
πΉ️1 tsp yellow mustard
πΉ️3/4 tsp chili powder
πΉ️1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
πΉ️1/2 tsp kosher salt
πΉ️1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
πΉ️1/4 tsp black pepper
πΉ️Dash of hot sauce (optional)
π Instructions:
1. πΉ Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat.
2. πΉ Add ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart into crumbles until browned. Drain excess fat.
3. πΉ Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet, cooking 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. πΉ Return beef to the skillet and mix in tomato paste. Stir well.
5. πΉ Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
6. πΉ Simmer over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, until the mixture thickens to your liking.
7. πΉ Remove from heat and serve hot over toasted buns.
