🍒 Classic Cherry Delight

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 12 full crackers)
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream)

Topping:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions:

  1. Make the crust:

    • Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl.
    • Press firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish (or a 9-inch square pan for thicker layers).
    • Chill in the refrigerator while preparing filling.
  2. Prepare filling:

    • Beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
    • Fold in whipped topping gently until fully combined.
  3. Assemble:

    • Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
    • Spoon cherry pie filling on top, spreading gently.
  4. Chill:

    • Refrigerate at least 2 hours (overnight is best) before serving so it sets nicely.

Tips:

  • Swap cherry pie filling for blueberry, strawberry, or mixed berry if you like variety.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of crushed pineapple (drained) on top of the cream cheese layer before the cherries.
