Banana Cream Cheese Cake

Ingredients
For the Banana Cake:
1 1/2 cups ripe bananas, mashed (about 3 large bananas)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Prepare the banana cake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a small bowl, combine the mashed bananas and lemon juice and set aside.
In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the batter, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
Stir in the mashed bananas.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
