Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar (see note)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar (or 3 for a sweeter touch)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Cooking spray or additional butter for the skillet
Directions:
Prepare the Milk Mix: In a small bowl, combine the milk and white vinegar. Stir well and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it thickens slightly, creating a buttermilk effect.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until thoroughly combined.
