Preparation Time

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients

Butter: 180 grams (¾ cup), softened
Corn starch: 40 grams (¼ cup)
Powdered sugar: 90 grams (¾ cup)
Egg: 1 large
Salt: A pinch
Vanilla sugar: 1 teaspoon (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
All-purpose flour: 250 grams (2 cups, approximately)
Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
Directions

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add Egg and Flavors:
Beat in the egg, a pinch of salt, and vanilla sugar (or extract) until fully combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
Sift the flour, corn starch, and baking powder into a separate bowl.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms.
Shape the Cookies:
Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
Flatten each ball slightly with a fork, creating a pattern on top.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies turn a light golden color.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
