Homemade Air Fryer Cottage Pie

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Filling

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced carrots, frozen peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the mixture is slightly thickened.
