Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade, thawed if frozen)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or oregano (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon flour (to dust the pastry)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Beef Filling:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
- Season the beef mixture with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Add grated cheese to the beef mixture and mix to combine.
