
🍍 Sweet & Sour Chicken 🍗
Crispy, tender chicken baked in a sticky, sweet, tangy sauce — totally better than takeout! 😍
👉 Ingredients
✅️ For the Chicken:
◾️ 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1" pieces
◾️ 1 cup cornstarch
◾️ 2 large eggs, beaten
◾️ ¼ cup vegetable oil
◾️ Salt & black pepper, to taste
✅️ For the Sauce:
◾️ ¾ cup sugar
◾️ ½ cup white vinegar
◾️ ¼ cup ketchup
◾️ 1 tbsp soy sauce
◾️ 1 tsp garlic powder
◾️ (Optional) 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thicker sauce)
◾️ (Garnish) Sesame seeds, chopped green onions
👉 Instructions
✅️ 1. Preheat oven
↪️ Set to 325°F (160°C) and lightly grease a 9x13" baking dish.
✅️ 2. Prep & fry the chicken
↪️ Season chicken with salt & pepper.
↪️ Coat in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs.
↪️ Brown chicken in oil (don’t cook fully), then transfer to the baking dish.
✅️ 3. Make the sauce
↪️ In a bowl, whisk sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
↪️ Pour sauce evenly over chicken.
✅️ 4. Bake
↪️ Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes.
↪️ Turn chicken every 15–20 minutes to coat and caramelize.
🔹 Serve Hot
↪️ Over steamed rice 🍚
