Beef and Potato Curry




🔹️Beef and Potato Curry


Rich, hearty, and packed with bold spices—✅ this curry is the ultimate comfort food with rice or naan!


🚨Ingredients:

👉 For the Curry:

◾️ 1.5 lbs (700g) beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces

◾️ 1 tbsp olive oil

◾️ 1 large onion, finely chopped

◾️ 3 cloves garlic, minced

◾️ 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

◾️ 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)

◾️ 2 tsp garam masala

◾️ 1 tsp cumin powder

◾️ 1 tsp coriander powder

◾️ ½ tsp chili powder (adjust to spice preference)

◾️ 1 tsp turmeric powder

◾️ 2 medium tomatoes, chopped (or ½ cup canned)

◾️ 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed

◾️ 2 cups beef broth (or water)

◾️ ½ cup coconut milk (optional, creamy version)

◾️ 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

◾️ ½ tsp black pepper


👉 For Garnish & Serving:

◾️ 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

◾️ Steamed rice or naan bread


👉Directions:

1. ✅ Sear the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and sear 3–4 mins until browned. Remove & set aside.


2. ✅ Sauté Aromatics: In the same pot, cook onions 4–5 mins until golden. Stir in garlic, ginger, chilies—cook 1 min.


3. ✅ Toast Spices: Add garam masala, cumin, coriander, chili powder & turmeric. Stir 30 secs.


4. ✅️ Simmer the Curry: Add tomatoes, cook 5–7 mins until they break down. Return beef, pour in broth, cover & simmer 1.5–2 hrs.


5. ✅️ Add the Potatoes: Stir in potatoes, cook 20–25 mins until tender. (If using coconut milk, add in last 5 mins).


6. ✅️Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle cilantro and enjoy with rice or naan!
