Used cloths, if not rinsed well and changed regularly, quickly become a source of bacteria and microorganisms. Certainly, as the latter proliferate more easily in the heat, storing rags in the refrigerator would not be a bad idea. But, the reason why you are motivated to do so is quite different. It is actually quite obvious, but perhaps most of you have never paid attention to it.
In truth, these cleaners and environmentally friendly, are made of a highly absorbent material. It is therefore particularly suitable for removing the excess moisture that often accumulates in the refrigerator. Simply place them on the shelves so that they naturally absorb all this moisture, thus promoting better preservation of food products, especially fruits and vegetables.
Please note that shelves are not necessarily suitable for these foods. And this for several reasons: firstly, the refrigerator gets dirty very quickly, so leftover food can spoil or contaminate other products. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables placed on a damp or often wet surface can gradually rot without warning. This is why the solution of cloths turns out to be the most successful.
Especially since the technique is very simple: instead of putting the products directly into the fridge, place them on the cloth. This way, you will avoid any possible contamination by moisture absorption or any overflow of liquid. And it is a great time saver, since you will not need to clean the refrigerator. It will be enough to replace the cloth with another, clean and dry one.
