3. Lemon juice
The acidic properties of lemon juice are very effective for whitening white clothes. Apply a few drops of lemon juice to the stain and leave it to act for an hour, with the garment exposed to the sun. Then wash the garment as normal.
Remember that not all fabrics are the same and that some are more delicate than others. Always read the label of the garment to understand which is the most appropriate washing method and whether it is possible to apply products such as bleach or bicarbonate.
4. Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is very effective against yellow stains on white clothes, but it is only safe to use on cotton, synthetic or nylon clothes.
Pour equal parts water and hydrogen peroxide into a bucket and immerse the garment for a few minutes, then wash as normal.
5. Bleach
Using bleach is one of the best options for whitening whites and removing yellow stains. You can apply this trick in both machine and hand washing, but only on cotton, polyester or nylon (not silk or linen).
If you wash by machine, in addition to the normal dose of detergent, also add 100 ml of bleach in the appropriate compartment. If you wash by hand, pour 100 ml of bleach in 10 liters of cold water, immerse the garments for about 20 minutes, then wash normally. Always use rubber gloves and a mask.
6. Active oxygen based stain remover
There are various options on the market, but stain removers based on active oxygen are usually an effective and fast method for removing stains from white clothes, not just yellowish ones.
Read the instructions carefully to apply these stain removers without running the risk of damaging your clothes.
