Ingredients:
2 pounds halved baby creamer potatoes
1½ pounds kielbasa, cut into ¼-inch chunks
¼ cup butter
2 (15-ounce) cans green beans, drained
⅛ cup cooking oil
1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mamma® seasoning
¼ cup water
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 minced garlic cloves
1 finely chopped yellow onion
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a large baking dish or casserole dish and set aside.
2. Prepare the Potatoes:
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the halved baby creamer potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they are just tender. Drain and set aside.
3. Cook the Sausage:
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Add the kielbasa chunks and cook until they are browned and slightly crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
4. Sauté the Aromatics:
In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Add the finely chopped yellow onion and minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
5. Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked potatoes, browned kielbasa, sautéed onions, and garlic. Add the drained green beans, Slap Ya Mamma® seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Toss everything together to evenly distribute the seasonings.
6. Assemble the Casserole:
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Pour ¼ cup of water over the top to help keep the casserole moist while baking.
7. Bake the Casserole:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
8. Serve:
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this hearty and flavorful Sausage Green Bean Potato Casserole as a main dish or a satisfying side.
Cook’s Tips:
For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of grated cheese on top of the casserole during the last 10 minutes of baking.
You can use fresh green beans instead of canned. Simply blanch them in boiling water for a few minutes before adding them to the casserole.
Adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding more or less Slap Ya Mamma® seasoning and red pepper flakes.
