Potato Puffs

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 4 medium potatoes (peeled and boiled)
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese (optional)
  • chopped (for garnish, optional)
  •  (for frying)

Instructions:

  • Step 2: Make the Dough
    In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. If you like, add the grated cheese to the mixture for extra flavor. Stir until well combined.
  • Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
    Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and let them cool for a few minutes. Then mash them until smooth.
  • Step 3: Form the Puffs
    Shape the potato mixture into small balls or patties, about the size of a golf ball. You can use your hands to form the shapes.
  • Step 4: Fry the Puffs
    Heat  in a frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the potato puffs into the hot oil, frying them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 5: Serve
    Remove the potato puffs from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Garnish with if desired. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
