Homemade Nougat Recipe

A healthier and more delicious alternative to store-bought nougat, combining peanuts, sesame seeds, dried fruits, and a creamy marshmallow base.

Ingredients
– 500g peanuts
– 50g black sesame seeds
– 10g white sesame seeds
– 2 pieces dried mango, chopped
– 1 handful dried cranberries
– 30g butter (or substitute with corn oil)
– 200g marshmallows
– 100g milk powder

Instructions

1. Prepare the Ingredients: Wash and dry peanuts and sesame seeds. Chop dried mango and mix with cranberries.
2. Roast the Nuts and Seeds: Heat a dry pan over medium heat. Stir-fry peanuts and sesame seeds until golden and aromatic.
3. Peel the Peanuts: Rub peanuts between hands to remove skins.
4. Melt the Marshmallow Base: Heat butter in a large non-stick pan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Add milk powder and mix well.
5. Combine the Ingredients: Stir in roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, dried mango, and cranberries into the marshmallow base.
6. Shape the Nougat: Transfer mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Knead and shape into a rectangle. Cover with parchment paper and press evenly.
7. Cool and Cut: Let nougat cool at room temperature or refrigerate for 30 minutes. Dust with milk powder and cut into bite-sized pieces.
