Ingredients
For the Homemade Meatloaf:
- 1/2 cup milk
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) ground beef
- 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Olive oil, for sautéing
- 1 carrot, grated
- 100 g (3.5 oz) ham, chopped
- 70 g (2.5 oz) salami, chopped
- Bunch of parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- A few dashes of hot sauce
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 350 g (12.3 oz) bacon
For the Tomato Glaze:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- A drop of hot sauce
- Black pepper, to taste
