Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan (approximately 9-inch in diameter) or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking. A bundt pan also works well for a more decorative look.

Step 2: Prepare the Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and melted butter, continuing to whisk until smooth. Pour in the full-fat cream and milk, and mix until combined.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Sifting ensures that your dry ingredients are evenly distributed, which helps the cake rise evenly. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or hand mixer. Be careful not to overmix to keep the cake light and fluffy.

Step 4: Divide the Batter
Divide the cake batter into two portions. In one half, add the cocoa powder and mix until the batter is smooth and chocolatey. Leave the other half as a plain vanilla batter.

Step 5: Marble the Cake
To achieve the beautiful marble effect, spoon alternate dollops of both the vanilla and chocolate batter into the prepared cake pan. Once the pan is filled, use a butter knife or skewer to swirl the batters together in a gentle, figure-eight motion. This creates the signature marble effect without overmixing.

Step 6: Bake the Cake
Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Depending on your oven, the baking time may vary, so check the cake after 35 minutes.

Step 7: Cool and Serve
Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Afterward, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. You can serve it as is or dust it with powdered sugar for an elegant touch. For an extra treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
