Citric acid – it is known to remove limescale, especially in the bathroom to clean the shower, but not only. Simply dissolve 150g of citric acid in 1 liter of hot water. Then fill the bag with the solution and follow the procedure explained above.
Lemon juice: It is also an excellent anti-limescale agent. And just take the juice of two lemons and add it to the water that you will put in the bag. Leave it to act for at least 4 hours before removing and removing residue with a damp sponge.
White vinegar: It could not be missing, a valid ally in household cleaning, it is also useful against limescale. Simply pour a glass and a half of vinegar into the bag filled with water. Leave it to act for about 3 hours before seeing the final result.
Baking soda: Also almost always present in so-called grandmother’s tricks. 3 tablespoons of baking soda will be enough to add to warm water. Leave it to act for about 4 hours so that the baking soda has time to act. Then clean with a sponge and a microfiber cloth.
These are some of the ingredients that can be used to remove limescale, but be careful, some are aggressive and it is better to test them first in a hidden place.
Some of these ingredients can damage the surface of your sink if it is made of marble or stone. For example, you should not use vinegar or lemon if you have a marble surface, as they are corrosive and you risk damaging it irreparably.
Even if you have a stone surface, you should absolutely avoid lemon and vinegar.
Baking soda, on the other hand, is excellent on ceramic surfaces as it also removes existing stains thanks to the granular mixture that is created.
