Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Minced Meat Sauce:

  • In a large skillet or saucepan, brown the ground beef or ground turkey over medium heat until cooked through.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together.

2. Make the Cheese Filling:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until well combined and set aside.

3. Assemble the Lasagna:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spread a thin layer of the minced meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Arrange 4 cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, slightly overlapping them.
  • Spread half of the cheese filling over the noodles, followed by a layer of minced meat sauce.
  • Repeat the layers with 4 more lasagna noodles, the remaining cheese filling, and another layer of minced meat sauce.
  • Top the lasagna with the remaining 4 lasagna noodles and cover them with the remaining minced meat sauce.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the lasagna.
